Positioned on the highest point of the Soma Bay peninsula, about 45 km from Hurghada airport, La Résidence des Cascades. sits amidst the Golf & Country Club, Soma Bay’s sporting and social focal point. The private sandy beach, a short distance from the resort and reachable by shuttle bus, is known as Bay Point; located at the furthest extremity of the peninsula, with a sandy cove on one side and a colourful coral garden swarming with marine life on the other.

210 rooms and 39 suites, comfortable and graciously appointed, all with sea, pool or golf course view. They are provided with a large bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower; standard amenities include private balcony, satellite TV, mini bar, safe, and individual air conditioning; tea and coffee facilities available on request. Rooms can accommodate maximum 3 people; some have internet access and few are equipped for handicap use.

The resort has 2 elegant and panoramic restaurants, where, in addition to the buffets and the "à-la-carte" selections, dietetic menus are offered, designed especially for those undergoing nutritional programmes at the thalasso centre. Various bars, among which on the top floor, a British style pub named after the many sea eagles that can be seen on the eastern coast of Soma Bay.

For centuries the waters and sands surrounding Soma Bay have been renowned for their richness and natural healing power: the ideal base for effective thalasso-therapy. Les Thermes Marins des Cascades is an integral part of the resort, easily accessible from all guest rooms. It is operated in cooperation with "Les Thermes Marins de Saint Malo" of France and it is one of the largest thalasso-therapy centres in the region. Highlights of the facilities and treatments include an 800 sqm Aquatonic Pool, fitness and nutrition programmes, a variety of hydrotherapy treatments, in addition to seaweed wraps, underwater massages, “sea mist” room, beauty care and post-natal recuperation programmes.

La Résidence des Cascades is located at the centre of a dramatic golf course which combines the best of links and desert features. Designed by Gary Player, one of the "Big Three", the 18 holes, par 72 course has lush green fairways that contrast with the rugged desert and the clear blue waters of the surrounding sea. Adjacent to the course, is a 9 hole, par 3 Golf Academy Course and extensive practice facilities, including a 60 bay driving range and several putting and pitching practice greens. Individual and group tuition by PGA Golf Professionals is also available.
